Scholarship Opportunities for Spring 2019
Lockheed Martin STEM Scholarship
Lockheed Martin has started a STEM Scholarship program that will award a $10,000 scholarship to 200 recipients, of which can be renewed yearly. The program will be open to individuals studying engineering or computer science that demonstrate financial need and come from underrepresented or underserved communities. The application period opened January 15, 2019 and closes on March 12, 2019. National SWE Scholarships
The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women studying community college, baccalaureate or graduate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. In 2018, SWE awarded approximately 238 new and renewed scholarships valued at over $830,000
SWE provides one application for sophomores through graduate students and one application for freshmen. Applicants complete an application and are considered for all scholarships that they are eligible for. Applications will be available for the 2019-2020 academic year:
Sophomores through Graduate Students Application: December 1, 2018 - February 15, 2019 (Reference letters due by February 22, 2019)
Freshmen Application: March 1, 2019 - May 1, 2019 (Reference letters due by May 8, 2019)
Scholarship are typically awarded in May (sophomore, junior, senior and graduate students) for use during the upcoming academic year. Scholarship payments are made in September. Recipients are announced in September also.
